MATERI'ACT: Forvia unit opens HQ, R&D centre near Lyon / Automotive supplier sets ambitious goals

Materi'Act (Villeurbanne, France; said it has inaugurated its headquarters and R&D centre in Villeurbanne, which is close to the French city of Lyon.

The subsidiary of automotive supplier Forvia (Nanterre, France;, which is also the parent of car components makers Faurecia (Nanterre, France; and Hella (Lippstadt, Germany;, is committed to developing materials with a low carbon footprint, particularly for the automotive industry, but also for other sectors. Plastics with a recyclate content of up to 70% are to play a role in this endeavour.

Meanwhile, Materi'Act has entered partnerships with environmental service providers such as Veolia and Plastic Odyssey. Forvia aims to become climate-neutral in terms of carbon emissions by 2045.

In Villeurbanne, almost 100 employees work for Materi'Act, which covers floorspace of 7,500 m². The company, led by president Rémi Daudin, has ambitious growth targets: the workforce is to increase to 400 employees by 2025 and the 2030 goal for annual turnover is EUR 2 bn.
